Drawing on national nursing workforce data, K. Jane Muir (BSN ’15, PhD ’21, MSN ’22), an assistant professor at UPenn School of Nursing, part of its Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research, and a long-time emergency room nurse and family nurse practitioner, will discuss how health services research is translated to enact change at local healthcare system, state, and national levels.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Describe contemporary and long-standing issues facing the nursing workforce
  2. Describe how health services research is used to measure nursing workforce outcomes
